What's the actual magnification and field of view?

The telescope specifications vary by eyepiece configuration, but the auto GOTO system ensures accurate celestial tracking regardless of magnification setting. Check the detailed product specifications on Amazon for exact optical performance metrics matching your specific observing goals.

Can I use this for daytime subjects like bird watching?

Yes, while optimized for nighttime astronomy, the telescope can absolutely be used for daytime observation of landscapes and wildlife. However, dedicated spotting scopes typically provide better ergonomics for extended daytime use. The 360° pivot freedom makes it surprisingly versatile for various observation angles.

How does the light pollution filter actually work?

The filter uses specialized optical coatings to reduce light from sodium vapor and LED streetlights while maintaining excellent contrast for celestial objects like nebulae and galaxies. It's most effective in moderately light-polluted suburbs; extremely bright urban areas still benefit most from traveling to darker observing sites when possible.

Buying Tip

Before purchasing, confirm your smartphone is compatible with the companion app (iOS/Android versions), and check that your intended observing location has relatively clear skies—light pollution filters help significantly, but darker sites always deliver dramatically improved views of nebulae and galaxies. Consider pairing this with a quality phone adapter and tripod-mounted phone holder for the best hands-free viewing experience.
